Where is that stupid wind? Kite Surfing on Sardinia

Well here it is, lesson 1 of kite surfing: you need wind. And not just a little. Quite a bit. But also not too much. So what does that mean for end of season in South Sardinia? For me it meant I ended up with 3 out of 7 days no kite lesson at all. And in the other 4 days between 1-2 hour per day. To be honest, the shorter days were as well due to my lack of fitness :-) story of my life. And once you have understood lesson 1, the best thing you can do is to relax. And I would say that worked quite well. Of course you are disappointed if you can't go out, especially on your last day. But it meant also a lot of time to relax on the beach, hang out in the apartment or get to know Sardinia and the little island of Sant'Antioco where we stayed. So for the kite surfing, I am very happy. It was a lot of fun, we had great instructors and in the end I managed to ride on my own for a couple of meters. I definitely want to continue kite surfing. On the road again: hello Sardinia

Starting is always the most difficult part of writing. And I realised I haven't been writing any updates since about 6 weeks. As you may know I wanted to use my time off work for a couple of things: spend time with family and friends, do some soul searching and of course: travel, travel, travel. After the 4 weeks in the alpes it was time for some family & friends visits. I spent the first 3 weeks of august back home in South Germany, enjoying the summer. Then I drove back up north west to Rotterdam and spent time with my friends there, went to two weddings in the Düsseldorf area and was surprised that there is actually a dutch summer with sun and everything! I got a lot of rest during this time and I really enjoyed to have a bit more time than usual with my family and to see friends I haven't seen for ages.
