Day 18: And when the rain begins to fall
As said, we hade made the decision to not decide anything yet. We would walk to the lunch place, Pramperet, and then see it from there. Hike further over the mountains and descend the next day, stay here or descend today. They day started off the same as the ones before. Hot, hot, hot. Even walking on a car road for a bit. Then up, up, up. You can guess most of it by now.
I really enjoyed our lunch place. The staff was very nice and relaxed, maybe due to the reggae music that was playing. Then, without a lot of discussion we decided to descend directly, the clouds seemed like the weather forecast was coming true this time. So 2.5 hours going down, the knees love it. I was again so tired that at one point I needed music. I had no clue where my headphones were, so I just turned on my speakers. I didn't care anymore. And it helped! When the rain started we were nearly running towards the village and the bus stop (at least us girls).
We found the bus stop, but unfortunately the next bus would be in 2.5 hours. So we ordered a taxi, which said it would be there in 1.5 hours. To kill time we went to the gelateria and had an icecream. We were sitting outside until the rain & thunder really started. You can't believe how glad we were that we were not up in the mountains anymore! The taxi drive was fun, an old range rover with a female, very good, driver.
In Belluno, the first city since a while, we had found an online deal for a business 4 star hotel at the same price we usually pay for huts. Wohoo. Own rooms with shower and toilet and a hair dryer. What a luxury. We went to the pizza place around the corner and had amazing pizza and red wine. What a life!
