Day 22: In the Italian sun

As you may have guessed, my plan did not really work out. First what wasn't as I wanted: Jesolo beach. The part of the track, 1 day walk away from Venice, that is on the beach. In my head it was a beautiful, quiet beach. Well, everyone who has been to a north Italian beach knows that this is bullshit. Looking at places to stay I could only find tourist places. with prices up to 900 euro per night! So I already got frustrated and didn't want to spend my last 2 nights in this tourist trap.
Well, then we started walking as every morning. It was beautiful slightly hilly wine/prosecco area. Only it was already very hot in the morning. So I was looking forward to a nice lunch place and then a bus further. Again, in my head I had this romantic winery where we would do lunch and hang out and then an easy bus to wherever I want. Nope. The lunch place we found was nice, but could have been in my hometown. Nothing special, just a place to eat and drink. When I looked at how woo get to the beach it would have been 3-4 buses/trains with no idea if I would make the connections. And nearly 2 hours waiting for the first bus. So I did what I knew: I kept walking, in the heat, on stupid roads. As you can imagine: I was pissed. None of my options seemed attractive. So I put my earphones in, Spotify on and kept in walking. After roughly 4 hours luckily one other hiker decided to get a taxi to today's hotel. I was saved! So we took a taxi, went to the hotel, showered and sat there with a prosecco waiting for the guys. That was more what I liked.
The day ended with a nice dinner with pizza and finally the desired prosecco :-) It felt nice to have a kind of farewell dinner with the last 4 people that are on the road!
And I finally made a plan for my last day in Italy. It didn't make sense to keep on walking with the others. I would hate the walking and maybe end up at a place where there is again no good public transport. So I booked a hotel in Jesolo, the one but last stop in the book.  It is not right at the touristic beach, but I could easily get there by bus. So all options open, make a day trip to Venice or go to the beach.
